’Toxic bloc’ ministers summoned by EU over air pollution
The European Union has summoned the environment ministers from nine member states that are some of the bloc's worst offenders of air pollution. France, Germany and Britain are among those being threatened with court action, if they do not make urgent changes. Air pollution is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths across Europe every year.
