🇵🇸 US puts Hamas top leader Ismail Haniya on 'terror list'
The US has designated the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniya, a "global terrorist" and imposed sanctions against him for "terrorist attacks" against US and Israeli citizens. Hamas has branded the US decision a violation of international laws. The Trump administration's actions against the leader of the Palestinian group come in the wake of the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and cutting funding to the UN aid organisation, UNRWA, in the occupied Palestinian territories and Syria.
