"Gaddafi overthrow main reason for refugee crisis"
A dingy - carrying some 150 refugees - has sunk in the Mediterranean Sea off the Libyan coast, leaving at least eight people dead with dozens missing. The Italian coastguard said all of the victims were female and rejected the Libyan authorities’ account that at least 25 refugees have died. Rescue workers have so far managed to save 86 people. Search operations are under way to find any more possible survivors. Libya has long been a major transit hub for refugees trying to reach Europe. According to the International Organization of Migration, more than 3,100 refugees died in the Mediterranean in 2017.
