In Hong Kong, two pro-democracy activists have started serving jail sentences for their role in the so-called "umbrella protests" four years ago. The judge rejected a request for Joshua Wong and Raphael Wong to be released on bail while they appeal. Fourteen other defendants convicted of obstructing police were either fined or given suspended jail sentences.
