Ireland: Firefighters bring 4-hour blaze at Dublin recycling plant 'under control'

Firefighters say they have brought a colossal blaze at a recycling plant in Dublin "under control" on Wednesday, following a 4-hour fight against the fire. Emergency services were alerted to the scene at 9.00 GMT when the fire broke out in the area near Dublin Airport. Firefighters assessed the scene using a drone, before tackling the blaze. As the fire was brought under control large plumes of smoke could be seen across the Dublin skyline, although it did not interrupt business as usual for Dublin Airport. The area was evacuated with Dublin Fire Service estimating that it will be a number of hours before the fire is extinguished completely. Workers have been evacuated from the area with no reported injuries during the incident.
