"Mexico to leave NAFTA talks if US withdraws"
Mexico will reportedly leave negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement if the U-S decides to trigger its withdrawal process from the pact. An official in Mexico’s agriculture ministry and two other sources close to the talks issued the warning. There are reports suggesting that the U-S president would soon pull out of NAFTA. Meanwhile, Canada, another party to the agreement has launched a wide-ranging attack on US trade practices. Ottawa has asked the World Trade Organization to examine the use of duties in the U-S. NAFTA was first proposed by the administration of U-S president George H.W. Bush in the late 80s. It was finalized by his successor Bill Clinton in 19-94. Trump has long called the treaty a bad deal that hurts American workers.
