China's longest concrete arch railway bridge to open for trains
China's longest concrete arch railway bridge, an important part of a railway connecting two cities in the country's southwest region, will be put into use Thursday. The Yelang River Bridge is 1,120.8 meters long, part of Chongqing-Guiyang railway. The height from the arch crown to the valley is about 218 meters. The tallest pier column stands 60.7 meters high. The bridge straddles two mountains and has a maximum span of 370 meters.
