Haiti "vehemently condemns" Trump hateful remarks
President Donald Trump’s use of a profane term to describe immigrants in the U-S continues to draw a firestorm of rebukes. U-N Human Rights spokesman Rupert Colville says Trump’s use of a slur to describe Haitian and African immigrants is QUOTE racist, shocking and shameful. The African Union has also slammed the comment, saying it hurts diversity and human rights values. According to a P-B-S News Hour correspondent, the Haitian Ambassador to the U-S has also vehemently condemned the U-S president’s remark, saying it was based on stereotypes. Trump’s comment was reportedly in reference to people from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries. He also reportedly said that the U-S should instead allow more entrants from countries like Norway. The White House has defended Trump's immigration policy as part of his fight for the American people’s rights.
